The Jim Pattison Broadcast Group is committed to newly emerging Canadian musical artists through CRTC Canadian Content Development programming.
The seven year, $5.2 Million BC PEAK Performance Project was initially launched in 2009 with 102.7 The PEAK, Canada’s first AAA format station. Now in year 6, the BC PEAK PP has already changed the lives of 100 artists and created a vibrant music community in British Columbia. The BC project is administered by Music BC Industry Association.
The PEAK Performance Project is crossing the Rocky Mountains. 2014 marks the beginning of the new seven year, $4.9 million dollar Alberta PEAK Performance Project. This project is part of the CCD contributions commitment by the soon to be launched AAA station 95.3 The PEAK (Calgary). The Alberta project is administered by Alberta Music Industry Association.
The PEAK Performance Project is designed to educate, promote, develop and hopefully launch the careers of some of BC’s and Alberta’s up and coming artists. It also hopes to foster the BC and Alberta music industries and create a sense of community amongst music professionals. While the projects are run as separate programs in each province, there is an incredible opportunity to create bridges between BC and Alberta with a shared educational experience at the Rockridge Canyon, Princeton, BC Bootcamp.
Unlike other funding programs, the PEAK PP is designed to allow for all selected artists to work their way through a process that will give them the opportunity to show whether they have what it takes to make it in today's music industry. The artists that show not only the most talent, but also the most creativity in marketing and promotion and show overall growth will be rewarded with greater support from the program.
